    Custom Western Red Cedar railing along on each side of the deck blend with the surrounding trees. The rotated pickets mimick the branches, and draw the eye out to the water through the topless glass and brushed stainless steel InvisiRail system at the front of the deck.

    We worked with Build Vitruvian to complete the deck on our cottage including adding a glass railing. We found Vitruvian to be knowledgeable, trustworthy, professional, and creative.   • Build Details

    The pickets random spacing are Ontario Building Code (OBC) compliant; maximum spacing between pickets never exceeds the allowed 4″. 

    The Western Red Cedar custom railing features hidden fasteners and continuous top rails, giving a clean look and eliminating miter joints. 

    The InvisiRail Glass system uses a custom stainless steel spacer and bracket system that allows the use of stock sized tempered glass panels, reducing the cost.

    Solid 6×6 Pressure Treated blocking was retrofitted to the existing deck framing in order to firmly anchor the posts.

    The majority of the Western Red Cedar railing was fabricated off-site, simplifying the install; minimizing time-on-site and disruption to clients.
